A Powerful 'Amazing Grace' [Mike Potemra]
In response to my post mentioning the Gilligan’s Island version of “Amazing Grace,” a reader kindly informed me of a splendid version of the great hymn — sung by the Blind Boys of Alabama, to the tune of “House of the Rising Sun” by the Animals. A fantastic rendition. (Listen to it here.)
UPDATE: "House of the Rising Sun" was not originally by the Animals; they just made the most famous recording of it.
