Ron Paul's Fundraising   [David Freddoso]

The old Ron Paul newsletters contained vile statements about MLK that Paul repudiates and says he never wrote. The candidate says that King is one of his heroes because he stood up against unjust government policies of discrimination. This matches the philosophy that I've always heard Paul articulate.

In any case, supporters have given Paul nearly $1.1 million so far today as part of an independently coordinated MLK-day "money-bomb" effort. It isn't as good as his other money-bomb days for Guy Fawkes or the Boston Tea Party, but it's pretty good for someone who has come through that newsletter controvery and who hasn't done all that well in primaries so far. (He did get a silver medal in Nevada, though.)
