Happy Thanksgiving   [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

I hope I catch you before you head off to your Thanksgiving celebrations. I just want to wish you the sincerest thanks on behalf of everyone here at National Review Online.

As you’ve heard before, here at NRO we rely on our readers. NR always has. You support us financially, so we can exist. You support us by reading us. You support us through your e-mails. You support us by subscribing to the print magazine.

So many of you have made NRO a part of your daily life. We’re always humbled by our influence in the world — knowing we are read in the White House, in the Supreme Court, in Congress, on talk radio, in the media, on both sides of the aisle — but knowing so many of you take time out of your busy lives every day is a great privilege for us.

This election certainly didn’t go as we would have hoped, but that was long in the offing. It had its demoralizing and rough moments all around.

But now we have something to look forward to. NRO enthusiastically rededicates itself to being Right, 24/7 – doing the reporting, having the debates, analyzing, writing, advising, talking, advising …

Thank you for making NRO a part of your election-year reading and thank you for staying with us — even, at times, when you read things that may make you scream. We seek to give you our honest best, always aiming for excellence for you, us, America.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted and looking forward to sleeping in before getting to work on the turkey and thanks giving. Some of us here will be in and out here on NRO between now and then and look forward to hearing from you when you are. And we’ll be back, renewed for the renewal on Monday.

Thank you, again. And a special thanks if you are serving overseas, if you love someone serving overseas, or if you lost someone serving overseas. We are in your debt and remain a great nation because of your sacrifice.
