From a very smart friend of mine and close student of these issues who disagrees with both Derb and me:
The guy is just confused. He's not trying to steal a trick for the creationists. He just doesn't understand that there's a difference between rejecting macro-evolution and believing in a divine role in evolution. And the reason he doesn't understand it is that he's dumb.
