Clinton on McCain   [Byron York]

Bill Clinton, ostensibly campaigning hard for Barack Obama, continues to say nice things about John McCain and Sarah Palin.  This morning, it was McCain's proposal to delay Friday's debate.  On ABC, Clinton said, "I presume [McCain] did that in good faith since I know he wanted — I remember he asked for more debates to go all around the country, and so I don't think we ought to overly parse that."

My guess is that Clinton sees this — McCain's "all hands on deck" move — as something he, Clinton, would have done in a similar situation, leaving Republicans fuming and muttering about being outmaneuvered.  The press would have admired him for it, too.
