What's in a Name?   [Mark Steyn]

Reading the complaint arising from the Dearborn mosque shootout, I was struck by the second name:

Mohammad Abdul Bassir (a.k.a. Franklin D. Roosevelt Williams)

I think a novelist would find the symbolism of the accused's birth name and his chosen name a little crude, but it certainly tells us something about where Detroit's headed.

Meanwhile, I like this piece by my old colleague Christie Blatchford, the doyenne of Canadian columnists, which begins with the hearty scoff of "Imam my arse."
