McCain on Torture   [Ramesh Ponnuru]

I think he gave a very strong answer, especially in disputing the likelihood of the scenario envisioned by the question. I didn't like so much his later answer about how our troops will be treated better if we act more humanely. This just strikes me as implausible, especially in the present conflicts. He was right the first time: Some kinds of acts we have to abjure because they're wrong.
