Who Else Isn’t a Fabulist   [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

For the record, I don’t view Andrew Sullivan as a “fabulist,”either, even though he reported that Smith is “employed by NRO” as “a staff reporter.” (Smith is a freelancer, which doesn’t make a mistake any less of a mistake, of course.) Others writing about this situation would do well to note the distinction between fact errors and facts that are intentionally fabricated. Clearly, as Sullivan’s mistake demonstrates, we’re all occasionally prone to the former.
