Re: The "Right" to Health Care [Mark Steyn]
Mark Levin makes an important point. When Senator Obama and co. talk about the "right" to this or the "right" to that, a "right" means little more than a pretext for a vast government bureaucracy. If there is a "right to health care," it's routinely abused in socialized systems. Mark's line was nicely summarized by the Chief Justice of Canada in this 2005 Supreme Court decision:
Access to a waiting list is not access to health care.
Or, in Levin terms, the "right to health care" is the right to be put on a waiting list.
