Michelle Obama, David Axelrod Depriving Poor People of Healthcare?   [Mark Hemingway]

Obama's wife, 3 aides tied to plan to free up space

Sen. Barack Obama's wife and three close advisers have been involved with a program at the University of Chicago Medical Center that steers patients who don't have private insurance — primarily poor, black people — to other health care facilities.

The story has a lot of angles, and at this point it's hard to tell how much substance is here beyond the shady cronyism. But I do think it will be hard to paint McCain as the wealthy out-of-touch guy when there's even the suggestion that your wife and chief strategist have conspired to put sick poor people out on the street.
