Re: Question Time   [Rick Brookhiser]

I don't mean to flog my new book, George Washington on Leadership, excessively — that would be a first for The Corner — but if John McCain is thinking of having question time in Congress, he should read Chapter One, "Start-Ups," in which I discuss George Washington's first effort in August, 1789 to get the advice of the Senate (as per Article II, Section 2) on a proposed treaty.

Spoiler: After it was all over, Washington was heard to say he would "be damned if he ever went there again!"
