My Last Post on Thompson Coverage for Tonight [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
Media Blog points out that Rush was down on the whole Leno thing on his show today — "there's a more dignified way of doing this." If you're a Republican who wants to be president, you really don't want Rush down on you (John McCain feels that pain).... and before you even get in at that.
I don't think it's too late to get in on principle. I just don't know how you meet or exceed really high expectations as people keep leaving your shop and so many — who were once enthused or at least open to you (remember those commentaries we ran way back? readers loved them and the prospect of drafting Fred — seemed to have moved on.
UPDATE: A wise, steady pal responds: "There's always next week." True. And if Fred has a great one, it could be a new show. All eyes on Thompson.
