Highlarious   [Jonah Goldberg]

I'm crashing on a deadline, but this MSNBC story (via Drudge) about reporters giving money to Dems by a margin of 9 to 1 is a glorious thing to behold.  I'll come back to it, but just to wet your whistle, I love this Times policy statement on why they ban reporters from giving cash to politicians:

As the policy at the Times puts it: "Given the ease of Internet access to public records of campaign contributors, any political giving by a Times staff member would carry a great risk of feeding a false impression that the paper is taking sides."

Mmmmmm hmmmm. Wouldn't a better explanation be:

"Given the ease of Internet access to public records of campaign contributors, readers might actually find out that reporters take sides, and the best proof is that they put their money where their mouths are."
