Women in a Man's World   [Kate O'Beirne]

On Tuesday at the National Press Club, National Review will be hosting a panel of female advisers to the leading GOP candidates, as mentioned earlier. The panel isn't co-ed because we didn't want a meanie man criticizing a woman's candidate. An all-women discussion risks the advisers making fun of each others clothes, but politics is a risky business. A topic of conversation will be the assertion by Mark Penn, Hillary Clinton's pollster, that about a quarter of Republican women could be expected to vote for his candidate owing to the "emotional" appeal of electing the country's first woman president. As moderator, I'll pose the question: Is it fair to make an emotional appeal to women voters when everyone knows women have no control over their emotions?
