They Had Good Reason   [John Podhoretz]

This story about the conduct of passenger Catherine Mayo, whose behavior caused the crew aboard her London-based flight to Dulles to call in the F-15s and land the plane at Logan last week, reveals that it wasn't an overreaction at all on the part of the captain. The air marshals, among others, believed with good reason she might be staging a diversion to enable an actual terrorist act on the plane. And she did have all those things — screwdriver, matches — we were told for some inexplicable reason she didn't have.
