Weird, Irritating Debate   [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

I think Romney came off effective and competent.

I don't think it will really matter for Tuesday. Especially if this is true — that Romney is pulling back before Super Tuesday.

It was odd that McCain didn't act like a frontrunner. I know why he was stubborn on "timetable" but besides it being dishonest, it just wasn't necessary. He could make the point that he thinks Romney is inexperienced another way — you know, with straight talk.

The presence of Paul and Huckabee was a waste. Huckabee looked small with his John Edwards hey-look-over-here protests.

But I did like Huckabee's answer to the silly Reagan question at the end.
