More Speech   [Rich Lowry]

The Wall Street Journal has a good take, and focuses on the key policy weakness on Iran.

I enjoyed Jonah’s column today and I suspect we agree about 70-80% on the speech. But Jonah leaves out a key thing in criticizing Obama’s self-regard. In discussing his personal history, Obama said this: “Much has been made of the fact that an African-American with the name Barack Hussein Obama could be elected President. But my personal story is not so unique.” I have been appalled by Obama’s solipsism from the very beginning, but this is exactly how he should be using his story — to shed a better light on his country for those naturally inclined to dismiss or hate it.
