I'm Guessing   [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

if Fred Thompson was a SNL fan, he's not anymore. They weren't terribly kind to their former NBC colleague tonight.

I am a Thompson fan (a Jesse Helms Republican who is also a pragmatist when it comes to electoral politics) and I can assure you that Thompson should and likely does appreciate the SNL piece on him as much as I do.  It was hilarious.  He believes his apparently non-maniacal campaign is an asset, not a liability, and I agree.  And besides, SNL is supposed to do a favorable impression of a politician?  And politicians are supposed to quake in fear over the political implications of an SNL impression?  Jeez...it couldn't have gone better as far as this Thompson fan is concerned.
