I think you're right, Andy, about the type of arguments available to Giuliani. Michael New expanded constructively on this topic on NRO last week. I'm not offended by the remark that Giuliani allegedly made about letting other candidates divide up the social-conservative vote: Very few conservative voters who consider social issues top tier are going to vote for him. It would be weird if many of them did, or if he expected them to. But, again, like you, I do wish he would drop the throw-women-in-jail rhetoric.
