Inside the Pennsylvania Numbers   [Byron York]

The reason McCain worked so hard for Pennsylvania was that he believed he might have a chance with those Democrats who wanted Hillary Clinton to win the party's nomination and who could not quite reconcile themselves to Obama's victory.  I talked to a lot of them when I was covering the Democratic primary — about half the Clinton supporters I talked to told me they wouldn't vote for Obama if he won the nomination.

But according to the exit polls, most of the Clinton Democrats went with Obama.  Among the 17 percent of the Democrats who supported Clinton, Obama won 81-19.
