US Weekly Defends Cover [Mark Hemingway]
On Fox, an US Weekly editor explains what the lies are in "Babies, Lies and Scandal" and attempts to defend the publication's shameful cover:
Actually if you read the story you will see it's very measured. Actually the lies we point out are some of the liberal bloggers who were speculating that the daughter had actually given birth. We were one of the few magazines that did actually call to task those liberal bloggers.
Oh, I see. The lies are from the liberal bloggers — and US Weekly is just setting the record straight. Which explains why they put "LIES" in massive type right below Sarah Palin's face. No one could misread that.
