Bush vs. Jefferson? [Andrew Stuttaford]
I think that the blogger who reports here on George Bush, well, 'editing' Thomas Jefferson makes too much of it, but that doesn't mean the story didn't make me smile. The proscribed passage is, needless to say, splendid stuff, Enlightenment lightning blended with slash-and-burn rhetoric, a refreshingly bracing read in this electoral season of mush, slush and, heaven help us, "audacity of hope."
