The Palin Bio Video and the Convention   [Jonah Goldberg]

Is just awful. This is the most compelling and exciting Republican politician in a generation and it moves slowly and looks like a highlight video for the Alaskan tourist board. It's another example of why I think this convention is the worst staged of any of the 10 I've been to (6 GOP, 4 Dem). The backdrop video screen is idiotic. Most of the time it looks simply blank on TV. Sometimes it looks like they forgot to put the weather map up on the blue screen. I don't know if folks watching on TV could tell, but Huckabee's backdrop was the parking lot of his church, I think. It could have been the parking lot of a strip mall. 

The convention organizers are very, very lucky McCain picked Palin, because she's created excitement. If McCain had picked almost any of the "safe" picks, the dully sloppiness of this convention would be a lot more obvious.
