The butt stops here   [Mark Steyn]

This one's really for Jonah. From Down Under:

SMOKING would be banned for everyone born next year, junk food would be taxed and everyone would be subjected to a fitness test by 2020...

These are just a few of the ideas from 100 of the nation's health experts who discussed the best way to combat obesity, reduce illness and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Health Minister Nicola Roxon said one idea put forward in a submission was an annual national fitness test where citizens would receive a financial incentive if they pass.

Very big of you. Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom they're prosecuting Down's Syndrome children for racism:

Last September, Jamie - who is 18 but cannot even tie his own shoelaces, needs help on the lavatory, mustn't be left alone in the house and still relies on his mother to tuck him up in bed at night - had an altercation with an Asian girl of a similar age, also a pupil at the special needs department of Motherwell College in Lanarkshire, where Jamie is a student...

Given their mental ages, it was no more significant than a playground spat between two five-year-olds... Just over a week later, Jamie was charged with racism and assault.

The descent of civilization into the fluffy totalitarianism of PC tyranny is accelerating.
