Re: Industrial Policy Here We Come   [Jonah Goldberg]

Jonah -

In President Eisenhower's famous farewell speech warning about the
"military-industrial" complex, he also warned about how excessive
government funding of the "scientific-technical" elite would skew the
process by which innovation occurs.*  I've heard the quote about the
former over and over for the last 25 years, ever since high school.  It
was only in the past year, after a post on the Corner, that I got "the
rest of the story" on Eisenhower's warning.  It's scary and eerie what
the information gate-keepers try to force-feed or starve us of (a point
your Liberal Fascism makes very well).
