Do you hear that? [David Freddoso]
It's the sound of Republicans losing another Senate seat. Well, not yet, and not for sure, but this is tough news for the Senate GOP.
Sen. John Sununu (R-N.H.) has actually done a pretty good job in Congress, and he beat Shaheen in 2002. But it's hard times for the GOP, especially up there. His numbers have been surprisingly weak. Shaheen is by far the strongest candidate to face him this year.
So Republicans are outmatched on defense in Colorado, New Hampshire, and Virginia. Things could get ugly in Minnesota and even possibly Nebraska, where Bob Kerrey wants to get back in the act.
