The Cheap Date Responds [Andy McCarthy]
Ramesh, "Cheap date" -v- "apologist" — yeah, I can see why you'd be upset.
In any event, my article, like yours, was an endorsement. The difference is mine didn't purport to be anything other than an endorsement. And sure, you've been open to criticisms about McCain since then ... when pressed by someone else. But c'mon — you know you've gone out of your way to raise criticisms about the other candidates, particularly Giuliani and Romney. That's perfectly fair, and no one should blame you for favoring your guy — he's a good guy. But let's not pretend you're not favoring your guy.
I've gotta hand it to you, though. It takes a certain moxie to go low-ball with the "cheap date" crack and then get indignant over what someone you've gratuitously provoked may have been "wondering."
