Friend or “Slight Acquaintance”? [Ed Whelan]
The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz continues to outdo Barack Obama’s supporters in his supposed factchecking. Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley, who knows both Obama and Bill Ayers well and who supports Obama, says of Obama and Ayers, “They’re friends. So what?” But Kurtz calls Ayers “a slight acquaintance of the senator from Illinois who has served on two boards with him.”
