Mitt's Mercy   [Kate O'Beirne]

During his four years as governor, Mitt Romney denied every single request for a pardon or commutation and reportedly highlights his blanket policy as some kind of an attribute.  But if the details of a recent story about one of the individuals denied a pardon are true, Romney's aversion to risk or "tough" stance on law and order should earn demerits.  An Iraq war veteran, convicted at age 13 of shooting another boy with a BB gun, who needed a pardon to be eligible for the police force deserved Governor Romney's careful consideration.
