Terror   [Michael Ledeen]

Well I'm glad i flew back yesterday, not today.  As an avid card player, I have always been fascinated by the terrorists' fascination with dates and numbers.  If the plot was going to come off tomorrow, that would be 8/11.  If it was timed for later this month it might relate to the much ballyhood (by Ahmadinejad) spectacular event on or around 8/22, about which people smarter than I have written a good deal...

I think it was Chertoff this morning who said "we share a common philosophy" with the Brits, which is not to wait until they act, but to go after them before something terrible happens.

And I thought, well, roger that.  But here was a secret plot we found out about, and we acted.  Iran announces its intentions openly, however we don't act.  Go figure.

Probably that great geopolitical thinker, Mike Wallace, can explain it...
