Colorado   [John J. Miller]

Even if Sen. Allard had chosen to run again, the Colorado Senate race would have been one of the most competitive in the country. The question now becomes: Will former governor Bill Owens get in? No Republican would stand a better chance of keeping the seat against Democratic Rep. Mark Udall, who announced his candidacy long ago. But the odds are against Owens running. He's been in public life for a long time and probably wants to secure his financial future. Other potential GOPers are former congressmen Bob Schaffer and Scott McInnis and current congressman Tom Tancredo.
