Rudy Falls Behind in Fla.   [David Freddoso]

In the new Rasmussen poll, anyway, he is now in third place behind Romney (second) and Huckabee (first).

If true, we're really near the end for Rudy.

If he loses Florida, then the only question is whether he falls apart entirely, or does well enough on Feb. 5 to hobble into the convention with 20 percent of the delegates. Unless Romney suddenly catches on in New Jersey, Connecticut and Rhode Island (he'd probably have to "discover" he has an Italian ancestor), Rudy will get 200 delegates no matter what.

The other big story here is the loss of nearly half of Fred Thompson's Florida support in just one month in the Rasmussen poll. As he is in other states, Huckabee is cannibalizing Giuliani and Thompson.
