All That Glitters [Peter Suderman]
Megan O’Rourke makes a feminist argument against diamond engagement rings in Slate today. Fine, sure, they’re kind of a ridiculous expense. But let me ask this—mostly rhetorically—are there really many women out there who don’t want one? My guess is the no-thanks-on-the-diamond-hon' constituency is pretty small.
Update: I still maintain it's a pretty small constituency, but pretty much everyone in it has sent me an email in the last half hour.
