Name That Pol   [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

* “Catholic.”

* Supports legal abortion.

* Supported Nuclear Freeze.

* Opposed the MX and Trident missiles.

* Opposed aid to the Nicaraguan contras

Name those pols, actually.

Joe Biden and Tom Ridge both fit the bill. And, bizarrely, they are currently both being buzzed about for vice president … for different parties.

Imagine for a moment, the first Joseph Biden vs. Tom Ridge debate. Biden could quote Ridge and bond about being on the same side of so many fights, against the Republican party. Then they could commiserate about the headache that is their Church’s position on abortion. (Ridge has gotten grief from his bishop.)

Ridge hasn’t run for office since 1998 nor debated anytime recently, as opposed to Biden who was in the primaries and debates anyone for sport. Can McCain see Ridge clobbered?
