Nixon and Castro [Andrew Stuttaford]
VDH, Vice President Nixon did meet Castro in 1959 (Ike had a golf game to go to). Admittedly Castro’s positions were (at least publicly) not so set at that time as they later became, but the point remains: Meeting the enemy is not necessarily appeasement, sometimes it’s just smart.
