One-Term Pledge [Rich Lowry]
As you know, Ramesh has long been in favor of McCain taking a one-term pledge. I've talked to two people who used to be agnostic on this idea who now consider it absolutely essential if McCain's going to win. On the theory that he's going to have to take risks to win in this environment and that it will brand him as a different kind of politician—running to fix Washington and not protect his own or his party's interests—in a way nothing else could.
