Frum on Applebaum   [Ramesh Ponnuru]

David Frum chides me for allegedly criticizing Anne Applebaum's "personal honor, integrity, and sincerity." I did nothing of the kind, and it takes a highly strained reading of my post to find these slights in it. Nor have I attempted to throw Applebaum out of "the house of conservatism," as Frum grandly puts it. I thought Applebaum's endorsement of Obama was unimpressive, and said, rather than "insinuated," as much. I don't think that it is incumbent on me, every time I criticize a writer's words, to note that he or she has done other fine work—even if that person is a friend of David Frum.
