License to Debate [Stanley Kurtz]
In today’s NYT, Hillary Clinton seems to embrace the idea of state drivers licenses in principle, without specifically endorsing New York’s plan. But according to this slightly more recent story in the Boston Globe, Hillary now seems to have specifically endorsed the New York plan. So it looks as though the story is about to move from Clinton’s equivocation to her actual support of drivers licenses for illegal immigrants. That is potentially a very big deal. Have the various Republican candidates taken specific stands against this? Will they be willing to make it a major focus of their campaigns?
