One Last Crazy Thought   [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

 From an e-mail:

Ms Lopez:

I am an avid Corner reader, and enjoy the posts very much.

Regarding Mike Huckabee as the VP nominee, one point most commentators don't consider is his nomination as Obama's VP. There are some major clues out there:

1) Obama's focus on evangelical vote

2) His embrace and expansion of Bush's faith-based initiatives

3) His play for Nascar vote

4) His decision to seriously contest states such as GA, SC, NC, MS, VA and MO, where the black and evangelical combined votes make a strong combination, and which a normal Dem candidate would have already conceded

5) Huckabee's proven appeal as a serious vote-getter among evangelicals, especially when compared to McCain.
