Specter and the 100 Days [Ramesh Ponnuru]
Chris Cilizza wrote this morning: "With less than 24 hours before President Obama celebrates his 100th day in office, the wall-to-wall coverage of the swine flu threatens to swamp efforts out of the White House to frame the president's accomplishments." Specter's flip will help Obama set the tone he wants for his 100-day coverage: The Democrats are growing by appealing to formerly Republican moderates while the GOP is being reduced to a conservative rump. The timing of the announcement could hardly have been better for the White House.
