That Thompson Story [Rich Lowry]
A couple of things. We don't know what's going to happen tonight and it might be that Thompson shocks everyone with a very strong finish, but: 1) I know Jonathan Martin and Mike Allen and they don't make things up; 2) I know that the Thompson campaign denies it, but the fact is that campaigns can rarely be forthright about the possibility that their candidate could drop out, until it actually happens: 3) Common sense suggests that political pros around Thompson would be talking like this. A poor finish tonight will be a major blow to his campaign. Anyway, we'll know more soon...
