I think Derb's right about the president's speech, as I pointed out in my article today. But what no one seems to have noted is that the president lost the opportunity for a Sister Souljah moment when Vicente Fox called to ask Bush what was up with the National Guard thing. Instead of standing up to Fox and scoring points with an increasingly skeptical public, "Bush reassured him that it would be only a temporary measure to bolster overwhelmed Border Patrol agents." 05/15 02:20 PM
