The Evolution of Bob Barr   [Ramesh Ponnuru]

The former congressman is criticizing McCain on spending: "Sen. McCain has indicated that he does not favor earmarks, but he really has not taken any significant stance opposed to government spending generally and has not indicated that he would move in the direction of significantly moving to decrease the size of the federal government in terms of the amount of money that it takes from the American people and the amount of money that it spends." It's a fair point, but let's look at these politicians' records. McCain voted against the prescription-drug entitlement in 2003. Barr voted for it.

And by the way, Barr, who is now running on an anti-war platform, voted to authorize military force against Iraq.
