Franklin Foer, Enemy of Ideological Agendas   [John Podhoretz]

Franklin Foer tells Howard Kurtz today: "It is really unfortunate that someone like Scott, who was really only trying to tell his particular story, has become a pawn in the debate over the war and the Weekly Standard's efforts to press an ideological agenda." So I guess this means Foer is satisfied everything in the Diarist is true? Or does it mean he actually doesn't care whether it's true or not, since it all constitutes Beauchamp's "particular story"? Or is he just embarrassing himself by choosing a lame talking point and speaking as though he were the editor not of an opinion journal — the type of publication that is supposed to have "an ideological agenda" — but rather as the editor of a magazine about, say, stamps?
