Patriot Paul   [John Derbyshire]

Michael: I think Ron Paul's notion of patriotism is congruent with mine: "My country, right or wrong: if right, to keep her right — if wrong, to put her right."

Ron Paul thinks we've gone badly wrong. At an age when lesser men give over their time to golf or sea cruises, Paul is out on the road trying to put his country right. That's a patriot. To dismiss Paul's arguments as "blaming America first" is to suggest that earnest, put-the-country-right public spirit is unpatriotic. I disagree, and so do millions of other conservatives.

As for Israel, from what I've been reading, they are well able to take care of themselves.
