I Give In—Giuliani Is Sort Of, Kind Of The Front-Runner   [Rich Lowry]

J-Pod, please feel free to do a victory dance at my expense. Giuliani is the semi-frontrunner. At least judging by the polls, obviously. But I think now that there is probably no real frontrunner. A real frontrunner has a sizeable advantage in the polls, in party support, and in financing. Giuliani clearly leads in the polls, but badly trails in party support and we'll see what the first-quarter fundraising report says. You could say Giuliani and McCain are co-frontrunners, but that really means this is now a race without a frontrunner in the traditional sense.
